1. Media Watch: You will assist SMART in monitoring the US media and reporting any misrepresentations of Sikhs and Sikhism. SMART monitors all media channels(print, radio, broadcast, web). Hence, we need a team of several volunteers to cover these diverse media channels.

2. Media Response: You will assist with drafting letters in response to any inaccurate representation of Sikhs and Sikhism found in the media. This requires very good writing skills and above average knowledge of Sikhs principles and history.

3. English to Punjabi Translators: We need volunteers to translate material in Punjabi. You should posses exceptional English and Punjabi language skills and access to a computer.

4. Grant Writers: You will write proposals for grants to private foundations and other appropriate grant providers. Prior experience writing and applying for grants is highly desirable.

5. Researchers: You will assist with performing research on various subjects. Requires experience doing research.

6. Attorneys (students or professionals): Assist our legal team to help screen emails and phone calls from the community, gather/document info, provide legal advice, and help in finding appropriate legal aid.

7. Gurdwara Representatives: You will work as a liaison between SMART and your local gurdwara. You primary responsibility will be to distribute SMART announcements and in general keep the local sangat and gurdwara management informed about various community related issues/activities.

8. Interpreters: You will assist with interpreting from English to Punjabi and vice versa in various situations (e.g. immigration case, legal case, etc.). Must be fluent in both English and Punjabi.

9. Administrative Assistants: You will help with various administrative tasks, like answering phone calls, returning calls, replying to emails, sending standard replies to email/phone queries, mailing material/letters, etc.
